Simba SC play away Mbeya City at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya in a Mainland Premier League today.
The Dar side will break the Mbeya City unbeaten home record if they win the game.
Defending champions Yanga broke Mbeya City unbeaten record in the league when the Jangwani Street Club defeated them 1-0 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on February 2.
A win for Mbeya City in today’s game will drive the hosts into the pilot seat temporarily before Yanga and Azam FC return into the league.
Yanga and Azam FC are set to play away international matches this weekend in Comoro and Mozambique, respectively.
The Mbeya City – Simba match is expected to grab the attention of many soccer fans because of their standing in the 14-team league.
Simba were beaten 1-0 by Mgambo Shooting in their last game played at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga while Mbeya City hit Mtibwa Sugar 2-1 in their last match played at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
Mbeya City head coach Juma Mwambusi has declared that the three points will remain in Mbeya.
Simba chairman Ismail Aden Rage boosted the morale of his players saying that losing at the hands of the Mgambo was just one of those things.
“They have promised me that they will beat Mbeya City,” Rage affirmed.
The teams drew 2-2 in the first leg match played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Simba currently have 31 points and a win will make them tie with Mbeya City at 34 points.
A win for Mbeya City will make them lead the league with 37 points for the first time.
